DRM 002: Barletta

Our next exclusive in the Deeply Rooted Mix Series comes from Toronto's own Hans Edquist, a DJ and Producer more commonly known by his stage name Barletta. The co-founder of Burner Records is always on the grind and actually just returned from crushing dancefloors across South Korea. Never idle and always looking for something new to do, it was no suprise that our friend was quick on the draw in making The Deep North a special mix for the blog's readers. But beware kids, this is not your regular mix...
Barletta said that he got real creative on this project and included zero songs by any artist - - including himself - - in the mix. Instead, Barletta chose to make us a single "song" - - over 17 minutes long - - that was made on the fly using various drum loops and VSTs. Don't worry the "song" plays like a mix and is real rad, especially the second half of this deep intergalactic zinger.
If you are searching for something unique, then you just found it here at The Deep North. Prepare for an exploratory ride into the deep with this tripped out mix from outer space. Big ups to Jem Truelove for helping with the image picked for this entry.
