Leeds Hustle
This week marks the release of Leeds-based Hessle Audio's first label compilation in the form of 116 and Rising. The label's output up to this point has easily earned their releases a "buy-on-sight" tag with an output of consistently forward-thinking, high-quality music. This compilation is no exception, presenting a dozen new and exclusive tracks alongside an equal number of gems culled from the label's back-catalogue. 116 and Rising demonstrates the shift of UK-bass culture from 140-rooted dubstep to housier climes: a move that Hessle has served as something of a vanguard for.
Here are two of the standout exclusive tracks (and really, the whole compilation is blindingly good,) by Cosmin TRG and label regular Joe, both demonstrating the edgy percussive sound pursued by Hessle Audio.
