Amine Edge is back at it again this week with another banger of a promo mix which I came across on his soundcloud page. If you don't know about this guy yet then get your learn on by listening to this heavily loaded mix first, which is so hot it got over 1000 plays in a single day. You can quickly download this mix by clicking here.
Below I have included some soundcloud links and youtube videos - - you should really check Amine's YouTube Channel, just to give you a bit more of an ideaabout how insanely bonkers this Frenchman's production is. After all, one quick look at his releases page on any major digital retailer will show that this guy only fucks with the best. Top class game, and he works harder then most - - so deal with the promo tracks and buy the originals here on Beatport.
Beep Dee, RMotta, Fox Glove & Rockerr. Some names which are important important to know as Brazil continues to grow as a big player in international house music.
Beep Deeaka Cesar Werlon is among the cream of Brazil's hottest house exports these days, and has been since his release on Hot Waves 001, an amazing number which goes by the name Colorado. This tune was the best of the lot on the compilation, and since then Beep Dee has continued to push the envelope both as a solo producer and as part of the super hot duo Fox Glove with his friend RMotta. If you know of Beep Dee, then you know he is amazing. If you don't know about this guy or Fox Glove, then you need to learn immediately why he is one of my favorite producers out there. Keep your eyes peeled for a DRM mix from this guy in the future, as well as his remix of my upcoming release on Zoo:Technique with my production partner Sean Roman - - due out in early summer.
And here is some work which was done with fellow Brazilians and Molotov21 label mates Toucan and Rockerr - - these kids do not fuck around. Take this fire in, then exhale.
Yes, those are the faces of Populette's Max and Andrew on a sheet of acid. Populette will be at Late & Deep tomorrow night. Click picture for more info.
We usually don't post two Deeply Rooted Mixtapes as close together as we are today, but we have to put up Max Paskof Populette's mix in order to get it up before he plays LATE & DEEP #12 tomorrow. Max is one half of NYC duo Populette which has original and remix releases on super cool labels such as Throne Of Blood, Peacefrog and Turbo. What we like about Populette is their originality and creativity, something that is often spoken about but rarely practiced. We cannot wait to see Max's set this Saturday night, he told me that he has prepared a proper shake session to get us all greased late night. Super stoked for this one!!
Don't get left in the cold like this stupid table. Download Bubba's scorching hot free tune off his soundcloud!!
Our homie BUBBA has a fresh tune up for limited time download over on his soundcloud - - where there are many, many amazing mixes for free download too. Do yourself a big favour and make sure you don't snooze on this one, because it won't be long before this gem is gone. I got my free copy, did you?
UPDATE : : : This tune has been picked up for release with a remix by Jordan Peak. Sorry Kids, you snooze, you lose. xoxo
Here is another freebie which was just put up on his soundcloud as well, but this time it's a number of songs sequentially ordered into a mix. Get your fix!
Couple of new jams recently uploaded on the DEEP NORTH TUBE, aka our YouTube channel. One video is by Lady Blacktronika'sside project with Chris Mitchell called The Ikenga Project. Leave your comments here, we are sure the producers would love to hear what you think!!
One more time, we are here. Here at the mouth of the DRM machine, waiting to see what new and exclusive mix we will recieve from the belly of the beast. I am stoked to share this next DRM mix with you guys because it comes from a young and talented DJ/producer known by two names: his formal, birth name, Brandon Sprouse, and his pseudonym "driip", which I happen to like quite a bit - - as it could mean a number of weird things, especially after delving into his dark, dirty and grimey taste in music.
Sprouse has often said that his signature sound is no-nonsense techno, the kind that keeps your head pointed downward in a dark room, freeing your mind from surrounding distractions while focusing it on the sounds that surround. Dark, bass heavy techno music is the passion of this up and coming Toronto Native, and you can expect to hear a lot more about the design student's ascent through the techno ranks - - especially if he remains focused on his plan to move to Berlin in order to pursue a full blown career in music.
Brandon can be found posting as a contributing member of the active Toronto blog-squad ElectroTO. Of course, that is when he is not producing sick music or embedding hot techno tracks on facebook for me to freak out over. Now that you have heard a couple of his productions, head on down to download his wonderfully crafted Deeply Rooted Mixtape for our blog. The tracklist can be found in the "lyrics" section of the Mp3's id3 tags.
"S.A.S. is Subb-an and Shelton, and it’s our alias for the more housey, broken beat, Chicago, after party style tunes. It is more edits based but you will hear in some of them that the music has been totally reproduced, we’’ve got loads of S.A.S stuff to come this year"
It took me a while to figure it out, but S.A.S. simply stands for Subb-anand Shelton, and I had been vibing off of this duo's collaboration work well before I had any idea who the two producers behind the project were. Knowing who S.A.S. really are has put all the mysterious pieces into place for me, as the talented and extremely versatile duo produces everything from nu-disco to deep house to hip hop.
I am a fan of both producers' solo work, and the two have been on a tremendous heat streak with awesome releases on labels such as Foot & Mouth and Hot Natured. Their latest release on Foot & Mouth, the Are You Satisfied EP, is more than satisfying, if I may say so myself. The four edits on the release are funky, fresh and banging dancefloor fire starters. Check out You Gotta Thinkfrom their latest release, as well as some solo productions from each producer before digging into this S.A.S. Mix made for the Soulclap Blog. Such Awesome Stuff.
Since our internet situation has been less than optimal (non-existant) until now, we have been having some trouble with our day to day transactions, one of which has been getting our good old pal Neoteric's Deeply Rooted Mixtape up on the blog so that we could all enjoy this delicious bag of candied tunage together.
Neoteric, who is originally from Canada's West coast, moved out to Europe in order to kick his music career into high gear. The move has put Neoteric amongst some of the worlds finest electronic producers and our boy is constantly on that hustle and grind, day in and day out -- evidenced by some of the projects he has been working on.
In mid July Neo put out a gnarly followup to his electro house compilation, Turned On Volume 1, through Discobelle. While the first volume in the compilation series was decidedly electro house, the followup has moved a bit more towards the techier side of house music, a flavourful mix of sweet electronica which we are loving over here at the Deep North.
Take small bite out of this remix of "How Deep Is Your Love" by Neoteric & Wax Motif -- a savory house biscuit remix -- and then tell us you don't want to devour the whole thing. I bet you can't. Download this beautiful bit from discobelle or XLR8TR for free.

Earlier in the year Neoteric & Wax Motif came together with Southern Fried to put forth the Go Deep EP, which includes remixes of the club banger by Supabeatz, Keith, Maxxi Soundsystem as well as local Toronto producer Gingy. I really like the original mix, but I think Maxxi's version gives it a good run for it's money in my opinion, followed by the version put together by our fellow Torontonian Gingy.

As you can see, this guy likes to put in work. It was no suprise to me that Neo has a very hard time finding a moment to breath in between putting together his White Light and unlisted mixes, doing radio shows for Scion, working as an A&R for Dubsided Records and touring the European continent to bang out shows for big crowds. After being told that a mix would be difficult to get from him a couple of times, I had pretty much given up - - until one day a few months ago Neo hit me up saying that he had not forgotten us, and that he would have a Deep House mix put together exclusively for the blog.
So here it is folks, a Deep & Delicious mix by my man Neoteric straight out of Berlin, a place which undoubtedly influenced his selections and desire to focus a bit more on the deeper side of house, a side which i wish was as popular here in Canada as it is on the European continent. Now, let's dig into this hearty melange of deep, dirty tracks.

The Deep North is back and ready for action. The new HQ is now hooked up with the internet so we will be back to our regular routine of serving hot, hot servings of deep and delicious house music - - at least according to our tastes.
To comemorate the return, we have a big mix by Neoteric coming at you for DRM012, but we will talk about that one in a bit.
For now, let's turn our attention over to French producer Romain Ruffiac, aka Remain, an artist whom I just found out about during a latenight dig for music last week. The French producer recently released a ruthless stinger of a tune called Concrete on the french imprint Family Name. The sixth release on the Family imprint, Concrete comes in a huge package - - possibly the biggest one I have seen for a single - - consisting of eight (8) remixes of the original. Yes, 8 remixes, one release.
I will let you judge it yourself, but I am bent over whether the original mix is the best version, or whether the remixes by the UK's Matt Walsh or France's Matthus Raman take the cake. I am still undecided, so listen to these three and decide for yourselves. Perhaps the release could have come with fewer remixes, because most could not even dream of reaching surefire banger status like these ones...in my humble opinion of course.
