Spencer Kincy aka Gemini dropped out of the house music world mysteriously. But his legend lives on.
Just got this 1990's mix of house legend Spencer "Gemini" Kincy from resident advisor, which linked to a R_co mix on soundcloud. For those unfamiliar with the enigmatic house producer, who suddenly vanished from the music industry without a trace, check out an article I wrote on his work a while back. This guy is phenomenal, and this mix is pure class! A-Grade beef.
Mr. Mandelephant aka Jeremy Sean aka Jeremy Mandel. Man made a nice mix for BlogTO, check it out!
Mr. Mandelephant aka Jeremy Sean put together this nice little mix for Toronto's BlogTO website along with a personal interview. I used to roll with Jeremy back in our pluggednotthugged.com days, where I first got my blogging experience prior to leaving in order to start my own project The Deep North. Jeremy remains an active player in the Toronto scene, running his metronautixproject and playing the Major Rager and Loose Hips parties. You can learn more about him and grab the tracklisting by reading the interview here. Thanks for the props Jeremy.

Deep North Resident DJ Boots Boogie does disco on the radio, deep house and interviews. Listen to more Boots Boogie mixes by clicking the glitch above!!
Recently Deep North resident and longtime friend Boots Boogie dropped a live set on In My Room Radio with GL!TCH - - a big influence of Boots' - - and apparently dropped a nice set of Disco House, House, Deep House and smoking hot unreleased exclusives, including "Lie to Me" by Sean Romanand Myself (aka Dick Diamonds) which is forthcoming on Bubba's new label Runnin Wild in May/June. Thanks Boots!! The tune, which we are super stoked on, was recently charted by Sacha Robottiand played by him in his play.fm mix with Mr. Ho. Deep love for you all.
Other artist material included tuners from locals like Lucie Tic, Cozmic Cat, Mix Chopin, Dimes a Dozen and more. Listen to the mix below, Boots hopes that you all enjoy it - -we are sure you will, unless you hate Disco... then skip the first half.
At the end of this mix Boot's does a short interview with Gl!tch, be sure to catch that bit too. Actually though!!
While we talk about people who like some disco flavour, let's just peep some samples of the next Clouded Visionrelease (CV007), a two song EP by none other than BUBBA- - a favourite of Boots Boogie's and a constant fixture in Deep North sets. While this release is not disco at all, we all know that the Bubs loves a good funky disco dunk here and there. But for this one, it's signature BIG BASS 4 YOUR FAAAAAAAAAAAAACE. We Need A Change is absolutely massive and gets people freaking the fuck out every time. Now get real and hit the floor. Dance club hustle.
And for those who want to hear them, here are some hot mixes from Mr. Ho & SachaRobotti (mentioned above) and Toucan (Brazil, Molotov21), both containing some heavy god damn heat. Sizzle.
Alrighty folks... As you probably noticed a long time ago, we havent been doing our radio show as often as we had planned... in fact its been over a month since we have done one at all. The good news is we will be back NEXT WEDNESDAY for good (we hope) from 9pm - 12am on Dubplate Fm's Urban Boogie stream. Go to the website and click the urban boogie stream at 9pm (EST) and listen to Dick Diamonds, Book and myself play some tunes we think you will like, and if you don't like them, well too bad. Tonight you can catch our homies Deadly Vanity during the same time slot, and they will be on the air every following week - - in alternating weeks with our show. This means that every wednesday you can catch great vibes and good tunes @ dubplate.fm between 9pm and 12am. Zing!
We would also like to throw a quick mention on the topic of this coming weekend's Late & Deep party. This event is going to be a blast. We have a tight little lineup of talented friends and extended deep north fam, headlined byDj Fame (who you probably know for his jump up electro/party rockin tracks - - which we generally don't like). Fear not, Fame will not be playing electro house, but rather, he will be bringing us a set filled with some of his favourite deep house and techno tracks at an all new location! For all the details please click HERE
Heres a mix from the man himself to get your feet moving.
Strtetford Cat's Club went quickly out of Business once
Stretford Dogs Club(SDC) is particularily patient man who has had to listen to some serious bullshit from me over the past few days as I showed him how little integrity I can have sometimes. After failing day after day to put his exclusive 2-hour mix of disco-infused deep house up on the blog as our DRM028submission, I feel like a tool. Oh well, it seem's likely that he wontt believe a word I say anymore.
SDC Runs a highly popular podcast series under the same name. It's popularity - - evident once you arrive on the Soundcloud page, as well as the fact that he is well respected as a knowledgeable house head - - is largely due to the solid list of great producers & DJ's he has had on his page, each of which gave their time to throw down an exclusive for his website and mix series. To exemplify just how closely people follow this guys stuff -- look at the number of plays his DRM MIX had in the few days between its' recording and now, when I finally managed to get his mix posted. I know, right? I hope that SDC is not as big of a liar as me, because we hope to see him play a set of two down here in Toronto this year, which he said he would gladly do - - afterall it would be a wonderful time.
Below is a soundcloud player - - Right Click & "Save As" to download the mix - - showing how much traffic I have lost by being a slow ass bastard. Look out for an exclusive mix @ the Stretford Dogs Club by myself in March, I look forward to contributing to this wonderful series. Thanks SDC!!

HIGRADE RECORDS BERLIN x NOAH PRED = MASSIVE MUSIC.
Noah Predhas just dropped an absolute smasher of a mix for French label Popcorn Records. Noah's "Popcast" is the 13th installment in the series, and really made me miss the Toronto native, who since last year has resided in Berlin. Check out the podcast page herefor a cool writeup on Noah.
The move seems like it is already paying off in absolutely massive ways, as the Canadian techno veteran has recently signed to the Berlin giant Higrade Records. His debut release on the label - - Motive Unknown EP- - includes two original mixes and a bone rattling dub by friend and label-mate Deepchild. You can preview the release before it hits the stores on the Higrade website and order a pre-release copy of the vinyl over at decks records.
We are throwing it up for our boy, super proud of you man.
One huge red citrus fruit is all it takes to scare off tree loving birds.Minimal music lovers listen up.
Local producer and DJ Jesse Morrison, aka Ana+one (pronounced ana-tone)of the Hushlambput together this BBQ friendly mix together just in time for the end of Summer, which, unlike dirty hot dog eating filthbags with mustard mouth, is now just a figment of our imagination. Mind you, some of the days have been "summerishly warm" in this wonky and wacked out weather. Yup, I make up words and no one can do anything about it.
Watch out for new releases by Jesse in the coming months, including this remix he did for Jonas Sellas' upcoming release on soon to be launched label Micromod Music. Also throwing in there some other little diddies I enjoy called Ants (Freaked Mix) and First Place Loser (Funk 101 Rework)just because I feel like it. Biatch.
Ana+one is one bad mother minimalist. True statement. His weakness is he is slower than a Canada Post mailman delivering mail when it comes to delivering a hot mix. F'real, yo.
Our man Bubba has just turned 328 years old. Dude makes some killer tunes for someone who lives longer than Galapagos tortoises. The industry has changed a lot since the late 1600's, and we applaud him for remaining relevant despite initial doubts by the late king's retainers. Wishing Bubbz a year of dream fulfillment and happiness. Keep kicking the shit out of earholes and all that - - we love ya buddy!
Here are a couple of hot candles for you all to enjoy on his special day. We have a nice Bubba & T-Bone remix and some funky house tunes from Scoper & Bubba which are free, downloadable 320's. Now that is a real birthday gift.
UPDATE: Bubba has put up an amazing track up for FREE LIMITED TIME DOWNLOAD on soundcloud, and he has told me to share it with you, the readers of The Deep North. Get that!
